Social Justice philosophy by ester vargas
Social justice is something hard to accomplish. The society we live in has changed and not necessarily for the good. The more we move on in technology the more back we as people move. The world has many injustices and struggles; there is hunger, pollution, crimes, wars, and deaths. Everyday people struggle to bring food to the table and are concerned about bigger things than what phone generation they will get next. People even stress whether they will be back home after work to say goodnight to their family because of all the violence around our community. Some even worry if they will be deported and never see their family again just for trying to provide a better life for their loved ones. Change is hard and we all need to work together to overcome all the obstacles we may face to accomplish social justice.
People need to stop blaming others and start focusing on what they can do to fix their own mistakes. Change only comes when we decide to accept that there is something wrong going on and that only the support of everyone will make it right. Social justice is possible, but only when people unite it will be visible. The struggle is hard, but if we all focus and actually try our hardest, we can bring social justice to our lives. Nowadays, people are fighting for real things like an immigration reform and a stop to the violence which is a huge step already. People are getting together to fight for a common good and that is what matters. It is those times that show that social justice is more than words; it is an action that needs to be noticed and imitated.
No matter what happens, there will always be something to fight for and some injustice to repair because unfortunately we live in a world where justice is not always served. I will try my best to be an activist and bring a sense of peace to this world. First, of all our community needs to know what is going on because if people do not know what is going on around them, then nothing can be done. I would love it if the inequalities ended and everybody could just live in harmony with each other, but in reality we can only get so much. Second, we would need to let our voices be heard because if we do not do it ourselves nobody else will. Sometimes one person can bring change, but two or more can change the whole world.
